Accelerate and Secure Cloud Data MigrationWAN optimization technologies let companies do more with less, enabling them to transfer more data over a smaller network connection. Such efficiency could deliver significant improvements in both existing and new disaster recovery environments. WAN optimization leverages a host of technologies like protocol optimization, encryption, de-duplication and compression, which combine to provide consistent and secure high performance connectivity over the WAN.
- Faster and more efficient :
Data reduction technologies like compression and reduplication mean less data needs to be transferred, allowing the process to finish sooner. More efficient data transfer also means more data can be moved in smaller windows.
- Safer than shipping a disk subsystem or tapes :
As there is no physical piece of equipment containing data being shipped from place to place this method is safer than shipping a disk subsystem or tapes.
- Cost effective :
Users can push more data over a smaller network connection, minimizing network costs.WAN optimization solutions can improve network traffic management and efficiency, which could reduce total network consumption needs.
- Secure :
WAN optimization technologies provide secure communications by encrypting data in flight and authenticating users accessing applications and data. It can also help reduce the load on back end servers by offloading processor intensive security operations for SSL/TLS and network encryption.
- Less disruptive than backup or network copy :
Leveraging technologies like load balancing, critical applications can receive priority bandwidth allocation. To avoid disruption by the migration during the day, the migration can take priority during slower network periods, optimizing available bandwidth to meet business needs. Additionally, protocol optimization is used to reduce the impact of chatty protocols, streamlining communication between sites.

Challenges in Cloud Data Security
Following are the challenges faced by cloud data security:
- Loss of governance
- Compliance risks
- Data abuse
- Data damage by malicious insiders
Cloud computing has led to a shift in how people think about IT systems architecture. Many organizations today are either implementing cloud-based solutions, or evaluating cloud-based solutions for future. According to Gartner Inc. cloud computing is "no less influential than e-business". This shift in architecture from an enterprise-based traditional server-based system to a cloud-based system will have associated costs of entry and risks, but it can result in enormous benefits in savings and in IT and business agility.
- Security Policy
An organization's security policy is its basic plan to protect data, devices and its network. The key is to determine what data and devices are the most sensitive and work backwards to data and devices that are less critical. Among many other elements, security policies cover; access rights of employees and outsiders, how to handle mobile workers, procedures for quickly terminating access rights of people who are fired or quit, and security maintenance procedures such as updates and patches.
- Network Security
Network security is a broad term that encompasses the protection, integrity and continuity of network-based assets, which include hardware, software and data, along with related network services. Key elements of network security include strong user policies, network-access controls, and intrusion-prevention systems, which fend off malicious attacks through the Internet or determine access to shared network software. Wireless networks require an even more intricate security matrix.
- Data Security
Data security is keeping all the information the enterprise controls safe, including everything stored on cell phones, laptops and other devices in the field. Though hard, the best approach is defense in depth, which relies on many approaches at many levels. While the details are complex, defense in depth relies on the common-sense assumption that malware or intruders that elude one level will be caught by another.
Following are the features of managed cloud data security:
-
SSL Digital Certificate
Digital ID also known as a SSL digital certificate is a form of electronic credentials for the Internet. Digital certificate is issued by a trusted third party to establish the identity of the ID holder. Our cloud portal and ERP applications are secured with SSL 1024 bit encryption to ensure that the transactions and data transfers are secure and tamper proof. SSL certificates are been provided by authorized Certified Authorities (CA).
-
Protect transactions and customer data with a SSL certificate
SSL Certificate is a powerful instrument to increase the security for making online financial transactions. All SSL security certificates secure credit card numbers, passwords, pins and other confidential information by encrypting it prior to departure between users and web servers.Customers can provide their payment details on the site as it is been protected using SSL certificate, the payments are secured by encrypting the payment details into unreadable form.
-
Authorize two factor Authentications
When elements representing two factors are required for identification, the term two-factor authentication is applied. Smartcard and password based protection can be enabled to the ERP Application, which increases in access security for the application.
Following are benefits of cloud data security:
- Centralized Data
- Reduced data leakage
- Monitoring Benefits
- Incident response
- Password Assurance
- Logging
- More Security because of large scale
- Security as market demand
- More chances of standardization and collaboration
- Improved scaling of resources
- Evidence-gathering and Investigation

Apart from hardware failure sometimes even a human error is enough to trigger the backup operation. It is therefore essential to have a proper backup mechanism associated with the application. mbascloud backup solution offers a backup mechanism which is simple, secure and reliable.
Challenges in Data BackupSome of the challenges usually encountered while taking data backup are:
- Lack of capacity planning
- Extended restoration period
- Data theft
- Corruption/exposure of magnetic media
- Unforeseen costs
- Bandwidth saturation
- Lack of backup of the backup OR No backup of the backup
- Inadequate Security
- Management issues
- Backup agent
This section explains how our data backup mechanism overcomes the above mentioned challenges.
Enterprise Backup :Provides both local and remote data backup storage including file-level, bare-metal and system-state backup.
In the MBAS Cloud backup mechanism, incremental backup is scheduled on an hourly basis Along with an additional day wise backup. Day wise backups are maintained as per their versions, and stored separately in certified and additional data centers and tapes. In case of any disaster, the backup server data can be recovered from the other backup data centers.Following points enumerate the steps involved in our data backup setup:
- Data centers undertake the data backup as per the schedule and store current backups separately in other certified and additional data centers of the cloud.
- Customers can access and download the backup through the portal.
- Every customer can access only his data backup information. The mbascloud authorization mechanism ensures that only authorized members access the information ensuring complete data security and data integrity.
